This site sets no cookie of its own. The ones listed below come from the measurement and advertising tools it loads.

What Clutchrig stores itself
No cookie. Two values are kept in your browser's session storage, which is per tab and disappears when you close it:
cr-consent— the choice you made in the banner, so it stops reappearing.cr-anchor— that you closed the bottom advertising bar, so it stays closed.
Neither is sent to a server. Neither identifies you.
What third parties set
Measurement and advertising are loaded through Google Tag Manager, which runs Google Analytics 4 and a Google Ads tag. Those tools set their own cookies:
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one browser from another to count visitors. | 2 years |
_ga_* | Google Analytics | Keeps the session state for the Analytics property. | 2 years |
_gcl_au | Google Ads | Attributes a visit to an advertising campaign. | 90 days |
Google may set further cookies on its own domains when those tags run. Their list and lifetimes are Google's to publish, not ours:how Google uses cookies.
Refusing
The banner at the bottom of the page records your choice and stops asking. Be aware of what it does not do today: it does not yet prevent the measurement and advertising tags from loading. We would rather write that here than let the button imply something it does not do. Until that changes, the reliable ways to refuse are:
- Google's opt-out add-on, which disables Google Analytics across every site.
- Blocking third-party cookies in your browser settings, or clearing them for this site.
- Any content blocker: nothing on this site breaks when the tags are blocked. Articles, images and navigation work without them.
