Scopely released Star Trek Fleet Command Update 94: Cause and Effect on August 20, 2026. The live update adds Bulk Research, restores a 20-milestone Battle Pass structure with more player-selected rewards, introduces new officers and artifacts, and begins a time-fracture story led by Trelane and temporal cartographer Maia.

The headline quality-of-life change is Bulk Research. Players can select a node farther down a research tree and have the game include its unfinished prerequisite nodes in one operation. Building, ship and faction-reputation requirements still apply, and prerequisites that use a different timer type must be completed separately. It does not remove progression gates; it reduces repeated selection and waiting-room clicks.

Battle Pass rewards now offer more choice

Cause and Effect returns the Battle Pass to 20 milestones, consolidating rewards into fewer steps. Ops 20 and above receive choice options for eligible starship blueprints and upgrade parts. Ops 40 and above gain Federation, Klingon and Romulan ship-part choice tokens, while Ops 51 and above can direct Artifact tokens toward six new Rare and Epic Artifacts.

The free track can fully unlock WOK Leonard McCoy. Elite-track officer options vary by Operations level and include Winn Adami, WOK Carol Marcus or The Doctor. Scopely also lists additional Ascension Particles, specialty-building materials and temporary Elite benefits, including warp-speed and loot boosts plus a 28-day build queue.

One monetization detail needs precision. New Prime Particles can be purchased directly. The patch notes were amended on August 20 to clarify that Ops 61+ players who buy the Elite Track unlock can claim 2,000 Radiogenic Prime Particles from the Event Store. That is a paid-track benefit, not a universal giveaway.

Officers, artifacts and anomalies

Neelix and Harry Kim exchange officer roles to better match their Voyager characterization: Neelix becomes the Morale officer and Harry Kim the Burning officer. Scopely says existing ranks carry over to the corresponding ability, so the swap should not erase investment.

Six new artifacts focus on Outposts, Academy drones, Origin Sector hostiles and V’Ger hostiles. Scopely also front-loaded their progression curves so early upgrade levels provide a larger share of each artifact’s final benefit. New Prime Research nodes target station critical mitigation for high-grade faction ships and the U.S.S. Vengeance, plus a Prime that halves the U.S.S. Athena’s Regenerate cooldown.

Galactic Anomalies return on a rotating calendar across Outpost and Academy space. Their modifiers alter critical damage, rewards, hostile mitigation and other conditions, with tiers escalating through the arc. Because the calendar changes by date, players should check the live schedule rather than treat a static guide as permanent.

What it means for players

Confirmed fact: Update 94 is live and its key systems are documented in Scopely’s August 20 patch notes. Clutchrig interpretation: Bulk Research is the broadest benefit because it affects routine progression rather than one Ops band. The Battle Pass changes respond to a different friction point—earning materials that do not match a player’s current bottleneck—by substituting choice tokens for some fixed rewards.

The update remains heavily segmented by Operations level. Newer players receive the click-saving research workflow and the free officer route, but several headline artifacts, missions and Prime systems begin at Ops 51 or 61. Players should check the level labels before valuing a purchase around features their account cannot yet use.

No rumors are included here. The patch story hints that something older has awakened, but that is narrative setup, not confirmation of a future character or ship.

Availability

Update 94 has been live since August 20 on iOS, Android, Windows and macOS. The Galactic Anomaly calendar in the official notes runs into September, while individual events and Battle Pass offers follow the in-game timer.
