Gryphline opened recruitment for an Arknights: Endfield Steam Pioneer Test on August 26, 2026. Applications remain open until September 10 at 13:00 UTC+8, and the publisher will select only some respondents. The test is unusual for a pre-release platform trial: it connects to the live servers, synchronizes existing account data across platforms, enables purchases and will not wipe progress.
This is not the global launch of Endfield, which is already available through Gryphline’s PC launcher, PlayStation 5, iOS and Android. It is a controlled test of the upcoming Steam client. Gryphline has not announced the Steam release date or the Pioneer Test’s start and end dates as of August 27. Anyone presenting either date as confirmed is getting ahead of the official notice.
What Gryphline confirmed
Players apply through the questionnaire linked in the official announcement. Completing it does not guarantee access; successful applicants will receive an official email with the test details. Gryphline specifically warned players not to buy, sell or share access through unofficial channels.
Testers who log in through Steam on five days during the test will qualify for 180 Oroberyl, 16,000 T-Creds and 15 Elementary Cognitive Carriers. Those rewards will be distributed only after the full Steam launch, another sign that this is a validation phase rather than the storefront debut itself.
The Steam build will use live servers. Existing characters, inventory and progress should therefore follow the player’s linked game account instead of starting in a separate test environment. Purchases are also enabled and progress will remain after the test. That reduces the usual cost of joining a beta, but it makes account linking and the correct login method especially important. Selected testers should follow the instructions in their acceptance email rather than creating a second account by accident.
PC requirements and storage warning
The published minimum calls for Windows 10 or 11 64-bit, DirectX 11.1 or later, an Intel Core i5-9400F or equivalent processor, 16GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 1060-class GPU. Gryphline recommends an Intel Core i7-10700K or equivalent and an RTX 2060-class GPU, still with 16GB of memory.
The storage line deserves attention: the client needs at least 50GB free, plus another 40GB while files are extracted. Gryphline recommends an SSD. In practice, applicants should plan for roughly 90GB of temporary headroom rather than treating 50GB as the only number that matters.
What it means for players
Confirmed fact: Steam is now close enough to release for Gryphline to test purchases, account synchronization and live progression with external players. Clutchrig interpretation: the test appears designed to validate the storefront client and service plumbing, not to rebalance the game in an isolated beta. That could make feedback on installation, login, payment and stability more valuable than ordinary combat impressions.
The no-wipe structure also means selected players can continue their real progression through Steam. The trade-off is that Gryphline says the client remains under optimization and may contain bugs, client problems or online-service anomalies. Players who prioritize a stable session should keep the existing PC launcher installed until the Steam version has completed testing.
There is no corroborated rumor included here. A Steam wishlist campaign is active, but neither its milestone progress nor the Pioneer recruitment notice supplies a launch date.
Availability
Recruitment runs from August 26 at 12:00 to September 10 at 13:00 UTC+8. The test is limited-access and Windows-only according to the published specifications. Arknights: Endfield remains playable on PC through Gryphline’s launcher, PS5, Android and iOS while the Steam build is tested.
